I’ve been meaning to do some tie dyeing forever! Well, like a year, which might as well be forever! Last Christmas holidays I got all excited about the prospect of tie dyeing t shirts and what not. I went to the library, I borrowed and photocopied books and I even bought my dye! But in a whole year I did not find one spare afternoon for tie dyeing! Well that was all rectified last weekend when I had an afternoon of tie dye!

The dye was black but I don’t think we left it in long enough to actually become black, so everything is a shade of blue. We did a few different effects. I’ve just posted the two T shirts and bag here but I also did some canvas shoes which were originally white and my boyfriend Chris did a t shirt too. I might post them up some other time.

I’m quite happy with the results, I think I might do purple next! This could get quite addictive….

So the combination of two animal prints in one outfit sounds a bit, much? But I completely fell in love with both of these fabrics on a fabric shopping trip last year and could picture this outfit right away!

I quite like the final result - I can see myself wearing this out at night for drinks, dancing and fun times! The only problem is the skirt is a PVC and PVC is hot and un-breathable! I guess fashion doesn’t always need to be practical, or comfortable! Bring on the sweat!

The skirt is made of a black crocodile print textured PVC - quite stretchy and tight fitting! The top is a lightweight polyester mustard zebra print. I’m not usually one for animal prints but I LOVE these fabrics and the way they work together. Don’t worry you won’t be seeing me in traditional leopard print anytime soon!
